HOT COLORS 2011
In her guest blog post about her experience at the recent New York Stationery Show 2011, Mindy mentioned a couple of trendy colors – charcoal and honeysuckle (Pantone’s Color of the Year) in combination. I thought it would be nice if I gave you swatches and HEX numbers so you can incorporate these colors easily into your new designs. I’ve also included a couple of other colors I’ve seen recommended on fashion sites as complementary to the scheme.
Some of these colors – Orchid Hush, Bamboo, Honeysuckle, and Quarry – are among Pantone’s Fall 2011 Fashion Color Report. I don’t know about you, but I tend to keep to the same colors a lot of the time in my designs. I’ve been making an effort lately to branch out, and I find these color reports helpful in spotting combinations I might not have otherwise thought of myself.

Many thanks for this, the latest in a seemingly inexhaustible series of guides and goodies; it is (and will continue to be) greatly appreciated.
Thanks Corrie. I’m absolutely loving that combination of colours and it’s particularly helpful to have the HEX numbers. Thanks 🙂
Corrie, do you ever sleep? I don’t know how you do all you do! Thanks for the colors, they are beautiful.
I’m motivated by knowing that many artists might want to dabble in different colors (especially trendy ones) but don’t know where to find the right information. And like I said in my forum post, I had 5 extra minutes before breakfast this morning. 😀

I’m definitely inspired to try out a combination of these colours in a design. I’ve saved them all to my swatches. I’d say those 5 pre breakfast minutes were very well spent!
Just as an aside – I think the Taupe HEX numbers should be AF9E89 🙂
Thanks for the catch! I’ve corrected the error. Can’t read my own handwriting, or my eyes are getting old! I will probably post color swatches more often if they prove popular. I’ve got a whole folder of this stuff I use when designing.

Thanks so much Corrie! I spent an hour in January getting this year’s wedding colors and fall/winter colors…it’s time-consuming, a bit hard to find without paying a fortune for it, but well worth it! Thanks for this!
You are a real Sweetheart! I tried to discover what color ‘Honeysuckle’ is but was unsuccessful. You gave us that and so much more… THANK YOU!
Thanks Corrie, this is great as I was looking for a new color palette. Can’t wait to try some of these. I don’t like common names like honeysuckle, it’s very ambiguous and trendy. I had a honeysuckle bush and it was yellow. Just give me the HEX numbers, and you did!
That’s what I thought. Honeysuckle IS ambiguous, but the HEX number don’t lie! 🙂

Thank You Corrie, Beautiful Colors, Thank you for sharing!
This was 5 minutes well spent. Thank you so much Corrie. I love finding new color swatches and these all work very well together.
Thanks again.
I really appreciate the sharing of info and especially the new year’s colors from the stationery show. One place that I worked, they never did that when they came back from the show. This means that GCU is supportive and wants their artists to succeed. That means a lot!
Thanks,
Gail
Thank you Corrie! This was really useful, you’re brilliant!
