News: GCU on ParentsConnect
July 20, 2011
Greeting Card Universe has a contest running on Nickelodeon’s ParentsConnect site – check it out!
Just goes to show that GCU is stepping up their game. Those of you who have already made “summer camp” related designs, I wish you many sales! 🙂

Whoo Hoo! that may explain why I sold two ‘Summer Camp’ thinking of you cards this morning …made me a happy ‘camper’ 🙂
Thank you GCU!

Congrats, Pam! Now I wish I’d found some time to create a few of those cards 😦
Great promotion, GCU!
No time like the present. 🙂 I haven’t created any yet, either…but I’m going to try to right now…and we can still fast track them (I hope). 🙂

This was one of those categories at the time when the initial request came me I had to think twice about spending any time on creating for it. But I’m sure glad I did, I have 2 cards in that category and seem to sell a few every week…LOL!
BTW, who created that cute card pictured at the contest site (a little girl by a campfire)? When I click on it, it’s just a picture (rather than a card at GCU). And I couldn’t find it in either of the ‘summer camp’ categories either. I think that one would sell a LOT!

Without really knowing, I have a strong hunch that illustration might be connected to Nickelodeon, the company behind the site. They were (are?) a television station showing cartoons and other programming for children. That picture looks very “cinematic” to me; can’t exactly explain, and I could be all wrong.
I did find the card…but as far as I can tell, the artist hasn’t put it in the summer camp categories. 😦 If that’s the case, I believe she might be missing out on sales.

What a great idea for a contest, getting traffic to GCU and sales!
Like Pam, this helps explain why I sold four Summer Camp cards today! The idea came for me to create a series of four cards that had the same ladybug on the front with only a slightly different look to the background so that a parent would be encouraged to buy all four and send a card each week to their child at camp. So delighted it worked!
Best wishes to all for sales,
Sri
