Nuts & Bolts: Collections Categories

October 13, 2023

Nuts & Bolts – Collections Categories

Choosing categories is perhaps one of the most challenging parts of the card submission process.  We strongly advise that you choose your category before actually designing your card. Since you can have two categories per card (2 not required) the second category should not be a random afterthought.

There are some second categories that are required, for example with photo cards; these must have one category as >> Photo / Your Picture Here under the appropriate parent category. Also, Stock Card Creations must be in Collections >> Off the Cuff (this is automatically set) so the second category would be the occasion specific category.

Unfortunately over time the Collections categories have become a catchall and overpopulated leaving many of the subcategories a confusing mixed bag of little to no value to shoppers.

GCU will begin to firm up guidelines on which cards and how many in a series can go into the Collections categories. As we develop more specifics, we will share them here.

Please be aware of this if / when you receive comments from the review team on your Collections category choice(s).
