This eliminates any and all concerns with ‘favoritism’. Results will post on the Community Blog. The jury will judge the entries on the following criteria:

  • How well the card meets the Challenge Requirements and Theme.
  • How well the card speaks to the Category the artist chooses for the card submission.

Be inspired to create and learn something new!

I am the volunteer ‘artist’ for my local wildlife rehabilitation non-profit organization who after designing their new logo a couple of years ago, they requested I create a superhero mascot for them to gain the attention of a ‘younger’ crowd. So, this is Tri County Wildlife Care’s new mascot “T.C.” – this was my inspiration for this challenge. Though not a card, I hope it offers inspiration to create your own superhero and put it to great use!

      Hi Cisillia,
Sorry for the delay in acknowledging. Don’t like to do that until I’ve officially entered the submission and I needed to wait just a bit longer for all of February’s Challenge votes to be completed. Your entry is officially in the books, good luck!

Great challenge idea and great logo, Doreen! Looking forward to seeing how artists bring this to life.

    Hi Doreen,
I am looking for clarification on the superhero term.
You state that we can’t use “super hero”, and I see in the title of the challenge you use the term “superhero” and in Cisilla’s design it says the same ,”superhero”.
For the keywords you suggest “super, hero”.
So am I correct to assume “superhero” is OK?
Sorry to sound so dumb about this, I just want to be sure!
    Thanks,
    Betsy
P.S. I love your raccoon superhero!

Thank you for asking for further clarification, Betsy. Review 758 has been kind enough to offer this great and concise answer on the forum which I will pass along:

As you note, the term Super Hero (two words) is NOT permitted as this is trademarked by DC Comics and Marvel Comics. The term Superhero (one word) IS permitted.

Here is a handy reference that breaks it down for all the card creation areas.
      CARD FRONT AND INSIDE VERSE:
Superhero or Superheroes (one word) ALLOWED
Super Hero (two words) NOT ALLOWED

      TITLE, KEYWORDS, ARTIST NOTES:
Superhero or Superheroes (one word) ALLOWED
Super, hero (separated by commas) ALLOWED
Super Hero (two words) NOT ALLOWED

We shall take a look through the site and return any cards that are showing Super Hero for the artists to edit them.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
