Nuts & Bolts – Exploring New Sales Outlets
Nuts & Bolts – Exploring New Sales Outlets
To explore more sales opportunities for GCU and our artist community, GCU is testing sales on TikTok, Etsy, and Amazon.
To start, we’ll feature cards from a small, select group of GCU artists while we learn how to best optimize the platform(s)—then expand more broadly. We have contacted a small group of artists participating in the testing phase for Etsy and Amazon. TikTok sales testing began almost a year ago. Artists will earn the same commission structure you receive today on all GCU sales.
If you’d like to be poised to participate (or not), check / update your artist global settings page: https://artist.greetingcarduniverse.com/community/edit_globals.asp to enable (or disable) “Third Party Sales” This is important should any other platform ever decide to do an audit on GCU to ensure we have the rights to represent our artists on these platforms.
Note: if you see your cards offered on any of the above platforms by GCU, this is part of this effort. If you have any questions at any time, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The difference is made in the details!

I believe that this could have a positive impact on our sales, however, I do have some concerns about selling on the Amazon platform. Experience with a different print on demand site in the past resulted in many infringements by 3rd party Amazon sellers. I would like to know if you are taking any steps to prevent that kind of thing. Will our designs be added to the Amazon master catalog, for example, that other 3rd party sellers use to pick out images for their listings? I hope that it will not become necessary for me to enable watermarks on this site.
Also, I would like to know what price point at which our cards will be sold on the various sites so that I may have an idea of my earnings percentage.
Thank you for your efforts to help increase our card sales. They are appreciated.
I am asking out business partner relations team for more details on this for you. I trust that we will be proceeding with caution and care with our artists’ works however you have very valid points.
This is great, thank you so much for all of your efforts!
