Wanted Cards – Letters from Home Themed Summer Camps
 
Cards to campers away from home at summer camp are very popular.  Great little notes to tuck into their duffel bags at drop off, sent for mail call or included in a care package.
GCU has created some new themed camp subcategories in need of cards:
 
>> Circus Camp
>> Space Camp
>> Sports Camp
>> Science / STEM / Robotics Camp
>> Music / Performing & Fine Arts Camp
>> Horse Riding / Equestrian Camp
>> Other Camp
We’d like you to create at least one card for these categories using the Stock Cards function or your own graphic designs.

 

 

Remember, when you’re submitting your new card, add a little note about the intended category in your Notes to Reviewers. Be inventive, be clever, be creative. Go for it!

Wanted Cards – Retirement K9 Unit / Police Dog
 
Police dogs risk their lives to help and protect law enforcement personnel. Their varied duties include locating criminals, searching for explosives and drugs, search and rescue, and sniffing out crime scene evidence.  

 

When their years of active service come to an end, just like people, it’s time for retirement. It’s a day that can be quite sentimental for the dog’s coworkers, department and handler.  There is often a public retirement ceremony for the community.
Please consider creating cards for this new category:
NOTE: consider photo cards, custom front text cards and as not all police dogs are German Shepherds, choices of other breeds.

Nuts & Bolts – Music Themed Cards

 

Shopping on the internet is so convenient, but it can be tricky.  You have to rely on product photos, item descriptions, measurements, and reviews to make sure you know exactly what to expect. And sometimes what you see, or think you see, is not what you get.

 

It may seem that GCU goes overboard describing elements of a card’s design, but there is good cause for it. Here is another example. Quite often a music themed greeting card has been assumed by the shopper to be a musical card that actually plays music. Musical cards are a thing so it’s not so far fetched but they are not offered on GCU.

 

So if you have a music themed card (song lyrics or characters that look like or are described to be “singing”) please be very clear in your Artist’s Notes with a statement like this: “This is NOT a musical card, it does NOT play music”.  This is especially important if you use musical notes in your design as shown below.

These categories could use some non-age specific photo card designs.
My Twin Sister or My Twin Brother photo cards (not age specific) as well as for general birthday photo cards for My Twin.

 

 

The second fitting catch-all category for these cards would be:
Collections » Photo Cards / Your Picture Here » Birthday
Remember twins come in different combinations that can be addressed in the design or verse – fraternal or identical, twin sisters, twin brothers, twin brother & sister.
