Wanted Cards – Rough Collie Birthday Cards

Pet lovers are crazy about greeting cards featuring their favorite breeds.  Dogs, cats, birds, you name it.  These fur, feathered and finned babies are part of the family.

GCU is in need of more cards featuring Rough Collies (vs Smooth Collies).  Specifically:

and

Be sure to put important terms like the breed name in the card title, artist notes (which serves a a product description) and keywords.

If you are not closely familiar with different breeds of animals it is an excellent idea to do your due diligence to make sure you have the correct breed.

Here for example is just one source on the Smooth Collie vs Rough Collie.

NOTE: consider designs that feature more than one animal as breed fans or breeders will typically have more than one.

We’d like you to create at least one card for these categories using the Stock Cards function (Bigstock) or your own graphic designs.

Remember, when you’re submitting your new card, add a little note about the intended category in your Notes to Reviewers. Be inventive,  be clever, be creative. Go for it!

Nuts and Bolts: Good Gets Great Before Making a Series.

Nuts & Bolts – Good Gets Great Before Making a Series

It’s always wise to take a final moment and reflect on your submission making any final improvements.  This is so true if you intend to create a like image series based on the design.  Not only does it improve your success in the review process but in marketability and sales too – where it really counts!

See this excellent example of final tweaks and tuning made by GCU artist Ron Magnes to his Galactic Christmas card design. This is now a attention getting relationship specific series.

Ron shared in the Notes to Reviewers with the review team:
Before I continue with this series I made a few adjustment. I darkened the background and brightened the type so it pops a little more. I also changed “stellar” to “awesome”. I figured more kids say awesome than stellar. I also got rid of the grain texture I thought it was too busy with everything else that’s going on and replaced it with a subtle circular pattern. On the inside verse I changed cluster to galaxy and spectacular to stellar. Can you please look it over and give me your thoughts.
Clever Ron has also used the design concept for a relationship specific Galaxy Birthday series.

Great job, Ron. As usual, your work is out of this world!

Wanted New Cards: From Realtor.

Wanted Cards – From Realtor

Solid relationships with clients and customers are very important to any business. Providing top quality and personalize service is one way to differentiate yourself. The Real Estate industry is one in which staying in touch with clients and showing appreciation can translate into repeat business and a fruitful long term relationship.

Cards from your Realtor throughout the year for many different occasions is an easy, personal and excellent way for realtors to maintain and build relationships with their clients.

Please consider creating cards for different occasions and holidays “from your Realtor”. These reside in two different Business categories accordingly.  Seems confusing, why two?  We’d like to have the specific subcategories as a “one stop shop” for Realtors under Business >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate for one easy link for them to shop from:

Business >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate >> Birthday from Realtor
Business >> Birthday >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate / Realtor
Business >> Christmas >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate
Business >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate >> Christmas from Realtor
Business >> Holidays >> XYZ Holiday >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate
Business >> Industry Specific >> Real Estate >> XYZ Holiday

As usual, if you do not see a holiday or occasion listed please use the >> Other subcategory.

PLEASE NOTE:  these are different than FOR my / our Realtor. FOR REALTOR would NOT be found under the Business category but in the traditional Holiday / Occasion categories under >> Occupation Specific like the following for example:

We’d like you to create at least one card for these categories using the Stock Cards function (Bigstock) or your own graphic designs.

Remember, when you’re submitting your new card, add a little note about the intended category in your Notes to Reviewers. Be inventive,  be clever, be creative. Go for it!

Rainbow Connection: Pantone Color 2018 – Ultra Violet

December 12, 2017

The official color of 2018 is a saturated, intense, blue-toned shade of purple called Ultra Violet, also known as Pantone 18-3838.

“Purple is a complex color,” says Lee Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “We’re in a complex time; this is a complex color.”

Purple, of all the colors in the spectrum, embodies this situation best, as Pantone explains. “[Ultra Violet] is a very provocative shade, but it’s also a thoughtful color–it sounds like a bit of an oxymoron,” Eiseman says. “This is the kind of color attached, historically, to originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking. These are the elements we need to create a meaningful future. Inventiveness and imagination is something we seek in our personal lives and business worlds. People are looking for that ‘magic bullet,’ and this shade is the perfect shade to lead right into it . . . It’s intriguing, fascinating, and magical.”
