Nuts and Bolts: Stock Card Creations Unmatched Image.

May 24, 2019

Nuts & Bolts – Stock Card Creations Unmatched Image

Updating some of my own Stock Card Creation cards that had unmatched images, I’d like to share some before and after images.  Don’t be discouraged if at first you do not find a near identical image. If you explore enough and try different search terms you will find an image that will work and may even be a breath of fresh air.

NOTE: a couple of tips I found to make things easier.  After updating the image and card you are brought back to the Manage Cards page, often not to the card you were working on.  Beforehand, simply write down or paste on a notepad the pid# of the card you’re working on and if you are not brought right back to it in Manage Cards enter the pid# in the “Find Specific Cards by: Product ID” box on the left. This brings you to the card to click the all important orange RESUBMIT button.

When updating a series and using the same new stock image, be sure to note the new stock image id.  When updating the image for the balance of the series simply enter this stock image id into the search box to locate the image quickly vs search terms and re-searching for the desired image.

Lastly, I add the following comment at the end of my Notes to Reviewer “updated with new stock image”.

Wanted Cards – Greek Rush / Recruitment

One of many decisions and new experiences for college students is Greek life.  Choosing to participate in recruitment is a big decision and can be an exciting, long, and sometimes unnerving process. Will they get a bid from their preferred fraternity or sorority?  Will they get a bid at all?

We have these related categories in need of cards:

>> General
>> Fraternity Rush / Recruitment
>> Sorority Rush / Recruitment
>> Other

>> General
>> Fraternity Rush / Recruitment
>> Sorority Rush / Recruitment
>> Other

NOTE: Important to note that the panhellenic organization / chapter letters, mascots, crests, and nicknames are trademark protected and cannot be used on commercial products without the proper license. An important related read The Business of Greek Life.

We’d like you to create at least one card for these categories using the Stock Cards function or your own graphic designs.

Remember, when you’re submitting your new card, add a little note about the intended category in your Notes to Reviewers. Be inventive, be clever, be creative. Go for it!

Nuts and Bolts: Extra Blank Lines in Inside Verse.

May 17, 2019

Nuts & Bolts – Extra Blank Lines in Inside Verse

If you’ve ever been asked by the review team to “remove the blank spaces from your inside verse”, you were likely confused.  You’re thinking, what the heck?  I don’t see anything.  Well, they are blank lines that is why you don’t see them but they are there!

Here is what it’s all about:
Sometimes if you have copied and pasted a verse from a different source (i.e: your notepad, word processing document, a prior card of yours, etc.) it has extra blank lines, or as us old school typists call them, carriage returns. Or you may have added blank lines before or after your verse in an effort to manually align your verse. This is discouraged as it can negatively affect the shoppers ability to add anything else to the inside text.

The review team’s request for edits will read:
Please DELETE your inside verse and all additional blank lines, and re-enter WITHOUT any additional spaces before or after your text. Use the alignment tools to adjust where your verse sits within the space rather than adding blank lines to align the verse to the top, bottom or center of the area.  Adding extra spaces create a lot of unnecessary space showing beneath the inside verse that will negatively affect the shoppers ability to add anything else to the inside text.

This is the Inside Verse preview that the review team sees:

One way you can identify this for yourself is when in the text area if you click your cursor in the body of the text area and it sits on a blank line above or below the line(s) of text then that is an extra blank line that needs to be removed. This can easily done by using the backspace key, as many times as needed.

Example here noting cursor position several blank lines below the inside verse text:

and here one extra blank line above the inside verse text:

If all blank lines are removed the cursor will only be able to reside on or within the line(s) of inside verse text:
