Nuts & Bolts – 3Q and 4Q Free Card Adjustment

GCU continues to honor through the end of the year special 1 card for $1 promotions in support of coping with corona.

For 3Q and 4Q 2020, GCU will adjust artists’ earnings on single card orders where these promotions were redeemed (STAYHOME, BEWELL or similar) that resulted in 0 earnings. The artists’ commissions for these transactions will be updated from 0 to 10 cents. This will be reflected in your Earnings Report and collectively reflected in your 4Q earnings.

Shoppers continue to be elated and blown away by GCU’s offerings and service.  Enjoy shoppers’ glowing testimonials!

“GREAT cards and FANTASTIC service. The cards are a wonderful quality. I love that you can personalize some of them. My picky sister just raved about her card that I personalized. Now she is using GreetingCardUniverse too!”

“Seriously?   I placed a “personalized” order for two greeting cards one day…..and the very NEXT day they were physically “shipped”? IF this is indeed true, this is absolutely AMAZING, and would be the very BEST Customer Service ever!”

“Wonderful cards in which you can write a message. Very handy during the pandemic. Thank you!”

“I find every card imaginable! Service is quick, on time, and the cards are fabulous. Goodbye Hallmark!”

Big thanks to our artists for your creative contributions helping shoppers send well wishes, find some levity, send birthday and holiday greetings from afar, commiserate & CONNECT.  Thank YOU for delighting our shoppers and helping them get through these challenge times.

October 29, 2020

Wanted Cards – Retirement For Her

Sometimes a general, one size fits all card may come across as masculine.  Or at least not speaking specifically to a female.  Please consider creating general retirement cards specifically for females.

The cards should go here:

Occasions >> Congratulations >> Retirement >> For Her

Remember when making general message cards that have a specific gender theme to use leading terms in your keywords so searching shoppers can find exactly what they are looking for.  See Fortifying Meta-data – Gender

We’d like you to create at least one card for these categories using the Stock Cards function or your own graphic designs.

To expedite the review of these cards, please check Fast Track Review on the card image details page when you create your card and add a Note for Reviewers like “for BLOG– Wanted Cards”.

Nuts and Bolts: Stock Card Creation, Image Offline Edit

Nuts & Bolts – Stock Card Creation, Image Offline Edit

Here is a little background on stock images no longer available. GCU used to Decline Stock Card Creation cards that used stock images that were no longer available. Since changes back in April 2019 we now can Return for Edits these cards vs decline them.

When this happens you will receive an email from the review team w/ this note:

GCU has taken this card offline as the stock image it is based upon is no longer being offered by Shutterstock.com as part of their Partner Program.  Please consider looking for a similar image offered and updating this card.  Thank you for your understanding.

In Manage Cards, please Edit this card using Change Image to choose a new image. After, please be sure to update the meta-data if needed (card title, keywords, Artist’s Notes), inside verse as well as append Notes to Reviewer if appropriate. Lastly, be sure to Resubmit for our re-review. Thank you!

Note:

This is a big time saver by not having to start the submission from scratch. The stock IMAGE will still need to be re-created but elements like meta-data, inside verse, etc. can be edited vs recreated. Plus any sales history and search indexing will be preserved as you are keeping the same pid# vs creating a new card.

Oftentimes we have found that the artist finds an even better image the second time around!

Please see other tips and examples here on finding a new image for a Stock Card Creation card that is Return for Edits because the image is no longer available.  Finding new stock image Tips

The difference is made in the details!
